Broker quoted me $1,150 to ship a Civic from Phoenix to Seattle, then the driver showed up asking for $1,600 cash
Booked the transport on a Tuesday and the broker confirmed pickup for that Friday with a firm $1,150 price. Friday came and went with no call, then Saturday morning a guy with a two car trailer shows up and tells me the rate is now $1,600 cash or he leaves. I paid it because I had already sold the car and the buyer was waiting in Seattle. The broker stopped answering my calls the second I mentioned the extra $450. How do you actually vet these guys before handing over a deposit?
