Watching folks skip the torque wrench on aluminum heads makes me cringe every time.

I've seen three warped heads this month from shops in town just cranking bolts down with an impact, and a proper sequence with a $150 digital wrench would've saved each job.

I mean, how many people are actually doing that though. Most shops know better by now, it's not the 80s. Sounds like you just got a bad batch of local mechanics.

Wait, they just throw the old parts away now? I always thought you got to keep them if you asked, that's wild. Makes me wonder what else they don't tell you.
