Rant: my shop's comeback rate on brake jobs dropped after one small change
Six months ago our comeback rate on brake jobs was sitting around 12 percent, which was eating up bay time and making customers mad. I started making my guys take a photo of the rotor thickness gauge reading before and after every job, just on their own phones, nothing fancy. That one step dropped comebacks to about 3 percent in eight weeks because the techs slowed down and double checked the spec sheet instead of eyeballing it. Turns out most of our screw ups were techs grabbing the wrong pad set for trim levels, and the photo made them look twice. Anybody else find that a dumb little habit fixed a big problem in their bays?
