Old timer swore by brake cleaner for starting fluid, so I tried it
Guy at the shop said just spray brake clean into the intake on a cold diesel. Did it last week on a 7.3 Powerstroke that wouldn't fire and it started right up after cranking for 10 minutes. Anyone else do this or am I asking for a fireball?

Friend, I've been there too. Did the same thing on a 6.0 a few years back and it fired up like a champ. Just be real careful with it, a buddy of mine had it backfire on him once and it nearly took his eyebrows off.

Used to think starting fluid was fine, this changed my mind for sure.

Saved a few bucks on starting fluid but lost those eyebrows, guess that's a fair trade.
