Hot take: cleaning the MAF on my 2011 Silverado fixed more than any parts cannon ever did
Two years ago my truck ran rough at idle and I threw $340 at plugs, coils, and an O2 sensor with no change. I finally pulled the mass air flow sensor and hit it with $9 of cleaner, and the idle smoothed out in about 10 minutes. Why do so many of us skip the cheap sensor cleaning and jump straight to swapping parts?
The thing is once you know how much a dirty MAF messes with your fuel trim, you start checking it before you touch anything else. Clean that sensor first, then chase the real problem if it's still there.
