Finally cleared out my old parts bin and hit a weird number

I spent the weekend sorting through the pile of old starters, alternators, and sensors I've been holding onto 'just in case.' Ended up with 47 working cores ready for the rebuilder. It's not a round number, but it felt good to clear that space and get a small check. I had parts in there from jobs I did over five years ago. It's funny how you don't notice the clutter until it's gone. Anyone else have a stash they need to deal with?

Honestly the weird number is what makes it real... like you can tell it wasn't some staged clean-out for a video. Makes me wonder about the math of it all, like how many of those 47 were from jobs where the customer just never came back for their old part. That's a whole other kind of clutter to clear out, you know?

Is it really that serious though, @holly_henderson86's dad probably just likes having backups?

47 alternators is insane, @hugoc97, tbh my dad's shed has 32 old brake calipers from the same exact situation.

My buddy's garage had 63 alternators last month.
