Can we talk about the customer who tried to tell me how to do my job?

Had a guy in my bay in Dallas yesterday pointing at his 2018 F-150's brake caliper saying 'I saw on YouTube you just tap it with a hammer.' I told him the slide pin was seized solid and needed replacing, not just a tap. He argued for ten minutes before finally letting me do it right. How do you deal with people who think a 5-minute video makes them an expert?

That "saw on YouTube" thing... my neighbor tried to fix his washing machine after watching one video. He ended up flooding his laundry room because the video didn't mention checking the inlet hose first. It's like they think every problem is the same one from the tutorial.

Ugh, that's rough. Read an article about how those videos often skip basic safety checks. It said to always look for a second source before you start taking things apart. Good call by @the_morgan to check the comments first. That's where people usually point out the missing steps.
