Was sure PPG paint was overpriced, but after a big mistake I get it now
I used to think PPG was just branding and you could save 30 bucks a gallon with Omni or something. Then I had a 2018 Honda Accord in silver that I had to respray three times because the cheaper paint kept showing through. I finally bit the bullet, spent $180 on the PPG stuff from the local supplier, and it matched on the first try. Has anyone else burned money on cheap paint before finally learning the hard way?

And honestly even if the cheap stuff looks okay at first it fades way faster than PPG does too. My buddy painted his truck with the budget paint and it went pink in like two years of sitting outside. That $180 a gallon starts looking pretty good when you realize you're not repainting every season.

Did you try buffing and waxing that cheap paint to save it or was it too far gone by then?
