Thought I'd hate that waterborne paint system when my shop switched 2 years ago
I was sure it was gonna be a pain with the drying times and all that setup, but honestly it lays down so much smoother and the color matching is way better. Anybody else come around on a new product they were dead against?

Actually, waterborne paint has been around way longer than 2 years as a standard in production shops. My guy, our shop made the switch almost 5 years ago and it was already pretty common by then. The environmental regulations pushed a lot of places to switch even earlier on the West Coast. The drying times can be tricky at first, but once you get the airflow and temp right it's actually faster than solvent sometimes. The color matching is definitely better though, no argument there.

And honestly on the drying times, once we dialed in the airflow system it became way more predictable than solvent ever was. The color matching alone made it worth the switch for us since we barely have to do any tweaking on custom blends now. I still roll my eyes a little at the cleanup process but the final results speak for themselves.
