That pearl white job that turned pink on me in Phoenix

Last July I had a 2020 Camry in for a rear quarter repair, sprayed the pearl base and sealer fine, but the clear flashed way too fast in 112 degree heat and left a milky pink haze in the sunlight. Had to wet sand the whole panel down to primer and reshoot everything at 7pm when it cooled off, cost me 4 extra hours and a full extra quart of clear. Anyone else fight with temp-sensitive pearls in desert climates, or is it just my luck?

I read somewhere that pearl colors have way more metallic flake that shifts in heat, so the clear drying unevenly can totally throw the tone off. Sounds like you got the worst of it, but at least you caught it before it left the shop.
