My old boss in Cleveland told me to always heat the panel before applying filler on a cold day.

I ignored him once on a January job and the filler cracked within a day. Now I keep a heat gun in the bay when it's below 40 degrees. Do you guys have any other cold weather tricks for bodywork?

Thought that was overkill until my own repair failed.

Honestly, the shop lights themselves can throw off enough heat if you park right under them for a bit first.

How long did you park under them to get enough heat? My garage lights are pretty weak.
