My 3M sanding block holder cracked right in my hand on a quarter panel yesterday
Was doing some final 800 grit work on a Honda Civic rear quarter. The plastic clip that holds the sandpaper just gave out, sent the block flying. Had to finish the section by hand, took way longer. Anyone have a brand for those holders that doesn't feel so cheap? I'm tired of buying replacements every few months.

Skip the cheap plastic ones. Get the 3M blue rubber block. Thing is a tank. Mine has lasted through two full paint jobs. Costs a bit more but you won't be buying another one.

Actually had the blue rubber one split on me too. The rubber got stiff and cracked after a year in my hot garage. I just stick with the cheap plastic ones now and keep a spare in the box.

My uncle's blue 3M block cracked in half after one summer in Arizona heat. Honestly @abby_wilson51 has a point, sometimes the expensive stuff fails just like the cheap stuff. It's just a sanding block, not a car engine. I've had a basic plastic one for three years and it still works fine.
