Blew $300 on a 'pro grade' paint booth filter kit that did nothing
Ngl I fell for the hype on one of those high end paint booth filter setups from a vendor at the SEMA show. Thought it would cut down on overspray and drying time in my shop. After 6 months of using it, my paint jobs actually had more dust nibs and the flow felt worse. Went back to my old $40 roll of filters and everything cleared up. Anyone else get burned by a fancy filter system that just didn't work?

You mentioned the dust nibs got worse with the new setup - did you check if the fan static pressure was actually matched to those filters? I ran into a similar situation where the fancy pleated media choked my exhaust fan so bad it couldn't pull the airborne particles out, just let 'em settle right back on the paint.

Totally agree with @troyreed, same thing happened to me with those heavy duty MERV filters.
