Warning: I thought the 'green flash' at sunset was a total myth until I saw it myself from a beach in Oregon last August.
I was just packing up my camera gear when a tiny but super bright green spot popped right above the sun for maybe a second, and my cheap 70-300mm lens actually caught it.

Saw it once in Hawaii, totally blew my mind.

Man, I bet Hawaii's warm air over the ocean makes that green flash happen way more often.

That's wild you caught it on a cheap lens. @piperb93 mentioning Hawaii makes me wonder about the best spots. Is it really just about a flat horizon, or does the air have to be super clear in a specific way? Like, was the Oregon coast super still that day, or had it just rained? I've read it needs a sharp temperature line in the air to bend the light.
