Vent: My buddy's 'perfectly dark' campsite for astrophotography was next to a massive truck stop
We drove two hours to a state park in Michigan, set up our gear, and then a semi pulled in with its high beams on for 15 minutes straight. Now I check satellite maps for ANY light source within a mile before I commit to a location. Anyone else have a spot totally ruined by unexpected light pollution?

My friend's big stargazing trip got wrecked by a new security light at the farm next door.

Ugh that's the worst! @matthewkim, it feels like we're losing all the dark places. The new LED streetlight by my house makes it look like daytime at midnight, totally kills the mood. There's just this constant glow everywhere now.
