Vent: my $40 garage sale telescope or my phone on a tripod for the eclipse last April
I went with the phone on a tripod for the eclipse last April and got a way sharper shot than my wobbly $40 scope ever did, so now I'm wondering if anyone else has had better luck with a cheap phone setup than with entry level glass.

Phone sensors got way better than cheap glass coatings, that's the real gap.
