Stacked 400 shots of the moon with my DSLR, then tried the same thing with my phone and the phone won
I spent three nights last week in my backyard in Tucson stacking 400 DSLR frames of the moon to get one clean shot, and my buddy pulled out his phone, held it to my eyepiece for 4 seconds, and got a sharper crater edge than my final edit. The difference was the phone's auto stacking and noise cleanup did in 4 seconds what took me 6 hours of fussing in software I barely understand. So is there any real reason left to drag out the DSLR for lunar shots, or should I just admit the phone people cracked the code?
