Showerthought: Spent 20 minutes trying to stack photos of the moon before realizing my tripod had a loose leg

I was out last Tuesday trying to get a crisp stack of lunar shots with my old Nikon. Kept wondering why every frame was slightly shifted even though I was using the 2-second timer. After fiddling with settings and blaming my cheap remote shutter for way too long, I finally noticed the right leg on my tripod was wobbling. Tightened it with a quarter from my pocket and the next 15 shots came out perfectly aligned. Has anyone else wasted a ton of time on a simple mechanical fix like that?

Wasted an hour on a similar thing with my telescope mount last month. Kept blaming the alignment software and recalibrated like four times. Turned out one of the tension knobs on the alt-az base was barely loose, just enough to let things drift. Tightened it with a dime and everything locked in place. That kind of frustration is real, especially when you're out in the cold and your fingers are already numb.

Oh man, I spent a whole night on that exact problem and it was just a dime loose too, wild.

@ruby_patel27 have you checked if the tripod legs are fully locked too?
