Just realized my star stacker had the wrong setting for 8 months

I was flipping through old photos from last fall and noticed my Milky Way shots all had this weird purple fringe. Turns out I had the white balance on auto the whole time, the software kept fighting itself. Has anyone else wasted that much time on a settings mistake before noticing?

Laughed out loud when I read this because I did pretty much the same thing with my shutter speed last winter. I kept wondering why every single night shot looked like a blurry mess and I just blamed the lens or the cold weather. Turns out I had it set to like a full second exposure for weeks and I never caught it until I accidentally bumped the dial and watched the screen change. Eight months is rough though, I'm honestly impressed you stuck with it that long before losing your mind. At least you got some cool purple fringe art out of it, I just got a bunch of smeared dots that look like my cat walked on the tripod.
