Just realized I've been stacking my astrophotography images wrong for 6 months

Oh man, that is rough. I've been there with other hobbies and it always stings realizing how much time you wasted.

AstroBackyard actually did a whole deep dive on this last year, and it's wild how many people miss that "save calibrated frames" checkbox. I bookmarked it after my own disaster with flats that were completely off.

Man that's a brutal feeling lol. Had the same thing happen early on with DSS where I was using the wrong drizzle settings and wondered why everything looked like a blurry mess. What software are you using? If it's DSS make sure you're actually checking the box for "save calibrated frames" in the stacking options because it's easy to miss. Also check if you're stacking lights only or accidentally including calibration frames in the wrong spot. Took me a rewatch of a tutorial to figure out my bias frames were getting mixed in with the wrong master dark lol.
