I finally got sharp moon shots after switching to a remote shutter

My hands were causing too much shake even with a tripod, so I tried a $15 wireless remote for my Canon and suddenly craters looked crisp. Has anyone else found a cheap accessory that fixed a big photography headache?

Right? That was the exact same thing for me. I got a cheap intervalometer off Amazon for like 20 bucks and it completely changed my astrophotography. I used to think my tripod was solid but just pressing the shutter button would introduce enough shake to ruin the stars. Now I can do long exposures of the Milky Way and everything comes out tack sharp. I even use it for macro shots now, tiny movements make a huge difference up close.

Honestly I gotta disagree a bit. For me the tripod itself mattered way more than the intervalometer, even a decent budget one still had enough wobble in the legs to blur stars. I found that upgrading to a sturdier tripod with a proper head fixed most of my shake issues without needing extra gear.
