I always thought those super clear nebula photos were just for pros with giant scopes

I saw a side by side comparison of the Orion Nebula from a guy in my local club. He took one shot in 2015 with a basic DSLR and a small lens, then another last month with the same camera but a new $400 tracker mount. The difference is wild. The old one was a fuzzy gray blob, but the new one showed pink gas clouds and the Trapezium stars sharp in the center. It was all about the mount letting him take longer exposures without star trails. I guess gear matters, but not in the way I thought. Has anyone else been surprised by how much a single piece of equipment changed their photos?

Guess my wallet's the real fuzzy blob now.

Look at my bank account after buying groceries this week, it's basically just a sad line of zeros. That fuzzy blob meme hit way too close to home. My wallet's not just fuzzy, it's completely see-through.
