Wasted $150 on a fancy lawn sprinkler system that broke in 2 weeks

I bought this automated sprinkler setup off Amazon thinking it'd save me time watering the yard. The main control unit fried after a light rain on day 12, and the warranty process was a joke. Anyone got a simple hose timer that actually holds up to weather?

Hold up, are we really sure it's the timer brand that's the problem here? I've had an Orbit timer for like 4 years now and it's been through rain, snow, and my neighbor's sprinkler hitting it directly and it's still ticking. @lindab49, maybe you got a dud or something because mine's been way more solid than the $30 one from the hardware store that died after one season. Sometimes these things just got bad luck from the factory, you know?

I mean, I get being annoyed but "fried after a light rain" makes me wonder if maybe you just got a defective unit straight out of the box. A light rain shouldn't kill anything with basic weatherproofing, that sounds more like a monday morning factory build than a brand problem. Sometimes the universe just hands you a lemon, doesn't mean the whole system is trash.

My Orbit timer lasted exactly three weeks before the display just went blank.
