Tried a 5-minute cold plunge after my run last Tuesday and it was wild
I usually just stretch and head home, but I jumped in my buddy's backyard tank after a 10K at 6 AM and my legs felt dead for hours after. Turns out going from hot to ice cold too fast can mess with circulation recovery for some people. Has anyone else has this kind of shock reaction or was it just me being dumb?

Wait, did your buddy's tank have any kind of water circulation or was it just still and cold? I've read that still cold water can actually trap heat against your skin and mess with your core temp regulation way different than moving water. Might explain why your legs felt so wrecked.

Dunno, feels like people overthink this stuff sometimes...

What if your shoes were still wet from the run? Wet cold feet trapped in dry socks is a whole different game for recovery.
