Showerthought: The average person touches their phone 2,617 times a day, I checked my own count and froze
Saw that stat from a tech study and thought it was inflated, so I used the screen time tracker on my Android for a full week. My personal average was 2,480 touches, which is basically the same number. What got me was that I only remembered maybe 10 percent of those interactions, like the other 2,200 were just muscle memory unlocking, swiping, and closing apps. Anyone else ever track their actual count and get weirded out by how automatic it all feels?
I hit 3,102 one day last week and immediately shut off notifications for everything except calls and texts. That alone cut my count by like a third the next day, so honestly the number is less scary than the fact that I could feel the difference in my focus.
