Rant: That $40 'smart' water bottle was dumb, I'm back to a $3 plastic one
It kept glowing blue at 2am on my nightstand and the app forgot my hydration goal twice, so has anyone else ditched a gadget that just made life harder?

Did you ever stop to think about how much plastic that smart bottle saved versus the regular one? The whole point of those gadgets is to track your water intake, but if it's annoying you enough to ignore it, then it's just a fancy brick with a light. I had a similar thing with a smart scale that kept telling me my body fat was going up when I was clearly getting stronger, so I stopped using it and went back to a plain tape measure. The real issue is that these companies add all this tech to make things feel futuristic, but they forget that sometimes a simple tool works better because it doesn't nag you or need charging. My cheap bottle never has a dead battery or forgets my goals, it just sits there and holds water. Sometimes the most basic solution is the smartest one because it stays out of your way.
