PSA: Asking vague questions gets you vague answers, here's proof from my own feed
I run a small online Q&A group for my neighborhood in Austin, about 400 people, and every week someone posts something like 'anyone know a good plumber?' with zero details. Then they get 20 recs that are all over the place, and they end up calling someone who charges $300 for a job that should've been $80. Last month a lady asked about 'water pressure issues' and it turned out her shutoff valve was half closed, but nobody could've guessed that from her post. I finally messaged her directly and asked four specific things: what floor, what time of day, hot or cold, and any recent work done. That's when we figured it out in two minutes. So my question is, when you ask for help online, do you actually include the boring stuff like your city, budget, and what you already tried? Because I swear that's the difference between useful answers and a pile of guesses.

I heard a podcast where a guy said the same thing, folks just expect mind readers.
