It took me 6 months to realize I was loading the dishwasher wrong
I always put bowls facing up and plates stacked together. Then a buddy pointed out my glasses were cloudy because I was blocking the soap dispenser door. Has anyone else had a basic chore click way later than it should have?

Oh man, this is so me. It took me forever to figure out that those little prongs on the bottom rack are actually for cups and not just weird decoration. I used to just shove everything in wherever it fit, and then wonder why my wine glasses always felt gritty. Maybe it's just me but I feel like dishwashers come with a secret manual nobody gives you. My mom still puts knives point-up in the silverware basket and I have to stop myself from fixing it every time. It's kind of embarrassing how long it took me to realize there's a right way to do it, but at least we figured it out eventually, right?

Actually I kinda love putting knives point up in the basket. It feels more natural to grab them that way and I never cut myself. Plus the point down thing means they don't dry as well in my experience. To each their own I guess, not like there's one perfect way.
