I thought cold brew coffee was a total scam until I did a blind taste test
For years I told everyone cold brew was just overpriced iced coffee and refused to buy it. My buddy Matt dared me to try a blind test with 3 different cups at his house last month. I picked the cold brew as the best one every single time because it had way less bitterness and a smoother finish. Now I make my own at home with a $15 mason jar filter and save like $4 per cup. Has anyone else been surprised by something they swore they hated?

Man people really do act like cold brew is some kind of religious conversion. It's just coffee, not that deep.

Cold brew is different enough from regular coffee to deserve its own hype, especially if you've had a batch that's actually smooth and not bitter. It's not just iced coffee, it's a whole different brewing method that brings out flavors you don't get with hot water. People get excited about stuff they genuinely enjoy, and that's fine.
