Hot take: I asked a simple question in this group last week and got a 500 word essay back

I posted about a basic way to phrase open ended questions, and some guy from Chicago replied with a huge wall of text about philosophy and semantics. It completely missed the point of just getting a straight answer. Has anyone else had a simple ask turn into a lecture?

Ugh, that's the worst. People love to overcomplicate a simple answer. Makes you just want to close the app.

Totally feel you, @rubyschmidt. Saw a post yesterday asking for a good pizza place and got a full essay on dough hydration levels. Like, just say Tony's on Main Street. Or someone will ask how to fix a wobbly table and the first reply is a 12 step guide involving wood glue and clamps. Sometimes you just need to wedge a napkin under the leg.

My buddy Dave asked for a good burger joint and got a history of ground beef.
