Finally gave in and tried an air fryer after 3 years of thinking it was just a mini convection oven...

A buddy at the bar challenged me to cook wings in his and after one batch that beat my deep fryer in 20 minutes with way less mess I ordered one that same night, anyone else eat crow on a kitchen gadget they swore they'd never buy?

My wife kept asking for one for about two years and I kept saying no way, that it's just a toaster oven with a fan. Then she went ahead and bought one anyway, and I was pretty annoyed about it for about a week. But then I tried roasting some broccoli in it, and honestly it came out way better than anything I ever got from my regular oven. The texture is different, crispier but not dried out. Now I use the thing at least three times a week for vegetables and reheating pizza, which I never thought I'd say. We still use the regular oven for big stuff, but for smaller portions the air fryer has earned its spot on the counter.

Man, that broccoli thing is spot on... I had the exact same reaction when my wife brought one home. But here's what gets me - you say it's better for veggies and pizza, but have you tried doing a whole chicken in it yet? I did a small one last week and the skin came out like it was fried, not roasted at all. Curious if you've messed with any meats in yours or if you keep it mostly for sides and reheating.
