TIL a hard lesson about site grids at a dig in New Mexico
We spent three days mapping a pueblo ruin near Albuquerque before a storm washed half our markers away. The crew lead made us re-do the entire grid with permanent steel pins, which added a week of work. Has anyone else had a survey get wrecked by weather?

A whole week of extra work... that's brutal. I can't believe the storm took out half your markers.

That sounds like a special kind of awful. Having to redo all that mapping work from scratch must be so frustrating. Hope they at least sprung for decent coffee while you were putting in those extra hours.

It's like that with so many things, where one small glitch ruins all your careful work.
