That week in 2019 when we dug up a 12th century coin hoard near Bath and I found my first silver penny
The ground was unusually soft after three days of rain and I remember my trowel hitting something solid around 2pm, then seeing that green crusted edge peek out, and for the next four hours we pulled 47 coins total before the light gave out; has anyone else had a dig day where everything just lined up perfectly?

Probably ruined a farmer's drainage system digging that deep in wet ground.

Funny you mention that, @derek_schmidt6, because I actually had a similar worry on a dig near Oxford a couple years back. Ground was soaked through after a long wet spell, and my group was pulling medieval pottery shards like crazy. What worked for us was keeping to the high ground and making sure we backfilled everything proper before the farmer even came out to check. We found 8 coins that day near an old hedge line, and the key was pacing ourselves and not rushing the trench edges. Your find sounds like a dream though, 47 coins is something else.
