That $800 ground radar survey we paid for was basically useless
Hired a local firm to scan a field near Cirencester before we dug, thinking it would save time. The report came back with these neat little blobs labeled 'possible foundations'. Three weeks of trenching later we found absolutely nothing where they said the blobs were. The actual Roman ditch we hit was in a spot they marked as 'sterile ground'. I get that GPR has limits in clay soil, but for 800 quid I expected closer than that. Anyone else had a geophysics survey steer you dead wrong?

Read somewhere that clay soil basically makes those radar things useless for anything deep. @perez.willow totally right.
