Overheard a conservator at the British Museum say they found 2 Roman coins fused together by a lightning strike

It makes me wonder how many other artifacts we've misidentified as deliberate hoards or ritual deposits when they could just be freak accidents, has anyone else seen weird natural damage that changed what you thought a site was about?

You mean like how some people find two rocks stuck together and call it a sacred burial mound instead of just a bad day for the gravel? Maybe half the "ritual deposits" out there are just nature being clumsy.

Yeah @haydenbutler, I quit trying to interpret every weird pile of sticks I find in the woods and life got simpler.
