Just realized I spent 8 years digging test pits wrong
I used to just dig 50cm squares wherever looked promising until a geoarchaeologist at a site in Texas pointed out I was missing half the stratigraphy. Now I actually map out soil changes before I break ground. Has anyone else had a pro call out their method on site?

Ngl, I once dug a trench so wrong my professor used it as a cautionary tale for years.
