Guy at the Aztec dig site told me 'stop brushing like you're dusting a shelf' and he was right about the damage I was doing
He showed me how to use a bamboo skewer instead of a brush to work around fragile bone fragments, and that one tip saved a burial context I'd been messing up for 3 days - has anyone else had a random stranger correct your technique in the field?

That "stop brushing like you're dusting a shelf" hit pretty close to home, I've been there too with stuff I thought I was doing right. It's humbling when a stranger calls you out, but man, that bamboo skewer tip probably saved you days of headache and a lot of regret. Good on you for sharing that, sometimes the simplest fix is the one that sticks.

Have you seen that video where the guy explains how most people are just scraping the surface instead of actually cleaning? Changed how I look at scrubbing anything now.
