Rope choice for a big removal job last week

I had to pick between a static line and a dynamic line for a big oak removal in a tight backyard last Tuesday. The homeowner's fence was right under the drop zone, so I went with static rope for more control on the lowering. It made the whole job smoother, especially when I had to piece out some heavy limbs near the house. Has anyone else found static rope better for tight spots like that?

Static rope in a tight spot is like showing up to a knife fight with a gun. Hope the homeowner bought you a good lunch for that one.

@the_ray ever had a static line save your back when the dynamic stuff just wouldn't stop bouncing around?

Haha NO KIDDING. I had a static line save my back on a third story trim job where the dynamic rope was just swinging me into the siding like a pinata. Felt like I was wrestling a bear. Static line locked me in place and I actually got the trim straight without wanting to throw my tape measure into the street.
