Rope block vs friction saver debate finally shut me up last week

Had a 30 inch limb hang up on a 70 foot white pine and my standard friction saver kept binding on the bark. Buddy tossed me his rope block setup and that thing ran smooth as butter on the second try - now I gotta eat crow to everyone I told that rope blocks were overpriced junk. Anybody else switch camps on gear after a bad day in the tree?

Had to eat my words on a 40 foot oak last spring when my friction saver locked up so bad my groundie almost got smoked by a falling stub... switched to a rope block that day and never looked back. Guess we all learn the hard way sometimes!

Keep watching @karen_perry38 cause she's proven twice now that sticking to old gear just makes the job harder.
