Rigged a 3-point hitch for under $400 and it actually held on day one
Bought a cheap tow-bar setup from Tractor Supply. Welded it to an old plow frame. First big stump pull it held perfect - saved my back and my wallet. Anyone else fab their own gear instead of buying the expensive stuff?

Oh come on, you really trust Harbor Freight welds on something that could snap and kill someone? That $400 setup is going to leave you flat on your back when that cheap metal gives out under real load. Bet you'll be back to buying the proper Cat 1 hitch before the end of the season.

Wait, didn't I see a YouTube guy test Harbor Freight welds that actually held up better than name brands, @simon_coleman?

Has anyone actually looked at the failure points on these things? It's usually the cheap bolts shearing off, not the welds themselves.
