Lost $400 on cheap climbing rope, should've known better

Went cheap on a chainsaw chain sharpener that claimed to work on any bar, but it stripped the teeth on my Stihl within 20 minutes of use. Had to shell out $60 for a replacement bar and ended up buying the manual file guide my buddy recommended anyway. What's the worst tool purchase you've made that you regret?
