Blew out a $600 stump grinder belt because I skipped pre-check
Last Tuesday I was grinding a big oak stump at a job in Salem and the belt snapped after like 15 minutes. Turned out the tension was way off and I just ignored it because I was in a hurry. My buddy at the shop said he always does a full check before even starting the machine. Has anyone else had a small oversight turn into a costly fix like that?

Never really stressed pre-checks but yeah I get it now.

Starting to wonder if the real stress comes from knowing the pre-check changes how a place treats you. @drew_park, you ever notice how staff act different once they see you run through the line. Like at the hardware store by my house, they never even look up until I scan my phone. Then suddenly they're asking about my day. That kind of thing.
