Warning: wasted $400 on a solar generator that barely lasts 2 hours

I bought a mid-range solar generator thinking it would power my fridge and a light during a blackout, but after testing it last weekend my fridge alone drained it in 90 minutes. The salesman told me it would handle 12 hours easy, but the fine print says the battery only holds 500 watt-hours. Has anyone else gotten burned by overhyped battery specs on these things?

Right, and the salesman probably said "it's got plenty of juice" while patting the hood. Real helpful.
