Spent $200 on a water filter and it clogged in 3 days
I bought this high-end Berkey filter system last month for my bug-out kit. First time using it with river water near Asheville, it got totally plugged up by silt and mud in 3 days. Now I'm thinking I wasted my money on something that can't handle real-world conditions. Anyone else tried these and had better luck?

3 days with a $200 filter and it's already toast? That's insane, I thought those things were supposed to be the gold standard for off-grid water.

Oh man, I gotta respectfully disagree here. Honestly, a lot depends on what water you're running through it. If you've got silty or muddy water, even the best $200 filter can clog up fast. Ngl, I've had good ones last months and cheap ones die in a day, it's all about the sediment load before the filter.
