Dropped $400 on a hand pump well and it paid off the day the city water went out
Spent $400 on a Bison hand pump for my backyard well back in March, mostly because my brother in Toledo kept bugging me about grid failure. The city water went down for 3 days last month after a main break, and my neighbors were hauling jugs from the grocery store while I was filling buckets in my own yard. I know not everyone has a well to begin with, so what is the best cheap water backup for folks stuck on city lines? I keep going back and forth on whether 55 gallon barrels are even worth the floor space.
