My neighbor in 4B hung a wind chime on our shared wall and I can hear it through my pillow at 2am
I live in a duplex in Portland and my bedroom wall is literally the same wall as my neighbor's living room. Last Tuesday around 2am I woke up to this soft clinking sound and thought someone was trying to break in through my window. Turns out it was a wind chime she hung on her side of the wall, about 3 feet from where my head hits the pillow. I knocked on her door the next morning and she said she put it there because it "looks pretty near the TV." I asked her to move it to another wall and she said she would, but it has been 9 days and it is still there. I am losing my mind over here. Has anyone actually gotten a neighbor to take down a noise maker without making things weird forever?

Had this exact thing happen with a neighbor's wind chime except it was on our shared porch. What finally worked was bringing a plate of cookies and saying hey I know it looks nice but I can hear it at 2am through the wall, would you mind moving it to the other side? Sugar coating it a little but being super direct about the sleep thing did the trick. She moved it that same day and we're still cool.
