Wired a panel backwards in St. Louis last month...

I crossed the zone and alarm outputs on a DSC panel and ended up with a false alarm at 2am. Do you guys prefer labeling every single wire or just memorizing the pinouts?

Read an article last week where a guy said he spends 5 minutes per panel just ziptieing labels on every single wire and it's saved him more than once. That stuck with me after I had to trace through a rat's nest of unlabeled wires last month on a commercial job. Took me twice as long as it should have because I couldn't tell the zone loops from the bell outputs at a glance. Labels are cheap and memory is not when you're standing in a dark basement at 3am troubleshooting a false alarm.

Switched to colored heat shrink after that same mistake, @the_ryan, labels beat guessing every time.
