Warning: I counted my unplanned panel swaps last quarter and the number was 14
I keep a paper log in the van of every panel I swap that wasn't on the schedule, mostly old 4/8 cans that finally cooked themselves in a garage in Mesa. I added up last quarter just for fun and got 14. That's 14 afternoons of drilling out rusty studs and re-pulling zones when I could have been doing panel upgrades people actually planned and paid for. It hit me that these emergency swaps are basically free advertising, because every one of those folks tells a neighbor or their handyman. So I started leaving a little card taped inside the door with my number, nothing fancy. Three of those 14 called me back within two weeks for a full keypad and siren refresh. Do you guys log emergency swaps, or just take the check and roll?
