Used to label every zone by hand with a P-Touch, now I just snap a pic of the panel schedule
I used to spend 20 minutes per panel printing and sticking labels on every zone, and half of them peeled off by the next service call anyway. Started taking a phone pic of the written schedule and texting it to the homeowner, and now I get callback questions way less often. Does anyone else do this or am I just asking for trouble when the pic gets deleted?
Curious what happens when the homeowner loses their phone or trades it in though. Do you also save the pic in your own files somewhere, or just fire it off and hope for the best? I started doing the same thing but now I keep a folder on my phone by address so I have a backup. Half the time the homeowner texts back "what does zone 4 mean again" anyway, so having my own copy saves my butt.
