That week I fought 3 false alarms in 4 days and almost lost it
Last Tuesday I had a residential call where the homeowner swore someone broke in, but it was just a loose window sensor rattling in the wind. Wednesday morning I drove 45 minutes to a warehouse that had a motion detector triggering from a spider web. Then Friday, a retail store called saying their panel was screaming at 2 AM because the backup battery was sitting at 6.3 volts instead of 12. By the time I left that third job at 6 PM, I had put almost 200 miles on my truck for zero actual security issues. Anyone else ever have a week where your troubleshooting felt less like tech work and more like chasing ghosts?

Ghost hunter" is exactly what I called myself that week too, it made me laugh which honestly helped. What really turned it around for me was starting to log the sensors that kept giving me trouble with exact time stamps and weather conditions, because I found patterns I could show the customer. Once I proved that spider web was tripping the same motion detector every morning around sunrise, they finally let me swap it for a different model that doesn't trigger on bugs.

Had a whole week like that last month, started calling myself a ghost hunter instead of a technician by Friday. Pretty sure my truck's GPS thinks I'm just driving in circles for fun at this point.
